CAUSE OF THE REVELATION

      With the exception of a few fanatic Sonni writers; almost all the Shiite and Sonni authors have written that the verse (No. 67) revealed in the occasion of GHADIR KHOMM, and HAZRAT ALI being introduced by the prophet as the VALI of the believers after him. They have a little variance in wording and, differ as to the meaning of the Arabic VALI, whether it means FRIEND, or LEADER and GOVERNING GUARDIAN.

      We have already given a fair detail of the incident in the GHADIR KHOMM, in this book on V. 2 - page 32 on commenting the verse S 5: please refer to that.
