Each day a new step must be taken
Dear brothers and sisters, the most significant feature of a living being is to rise and grow. Whenever the being stops growing its death will be near and by starting its downfall its gradual death is about to come; this is the rule which is dominant on the material and spiritual life of an individual and even a society.
Learning from this point, it can be said that if we do not step forward each day, if we do not rise and improve our faith, piety, morality, curtsey, purity and honesty but only regret about our past, then we suffer a great loss, having lost our way and being trapped in wrong ways, and this is what we must worry about.
Our great leader, Amir-al-Mu'menin (a.s.) have expressed the most beautiful word in this field, he says in his famous narrations:
(1) «مَنْ استوى يَوْماهُ فَهُوَ مَغْبُونٌ»
Whoever whose two days are the same has been in loss (because he has lost his main capital which is his lifetime but without trading anything except for regret)
(2) «وَ مَنْ کانَ فِى نَقْص فَالْمَوْتُ خَيْرٌ لَهُ»
He would better die who falls in loss (because at least his death stops his falling, therefore death is a great bounty for him)
That is why the Gnostics and the travelers of God's path consider it necessary for God seekers to promise themselves every day at morning to be cautious with their behavior during the day, and to evaluate and judge themselves at night. By doing so the seekers of the truth would not be surprised by their own faults and defects because they compensate them soon and each day by opening new devine horizons for themselves they receive new bounties from Heaven at down and evening.
(3) (وَ لَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فيها بُکْرَةً وَ عَشيّاً)
"There they shall have their provision at dawn and evening"
Therefore, dear friends! Do not forget yourself in the great trade of life where the precious merchandise of lifetime is exchanged for great human values, everyone can gain high benefits in this trade so be careful not to lose that according to this verse:
(4) «إنَّ الانسان لفى خسر»
Surely Man is in the way of loss""
Do not neglect to evaluate yourself. Take account of yourselves every month and every day before you are held to account!
